Album Release Party: NIGO × Spotify RapCaviar
For NIGO's I Know NIGO! album release, Spotify's RapCaviar took over a Beverly Hills mansion. Our job was to carry NIGO's signature duck through every corner of the property while keeping the brand identity front and center.
The build
Entry: a branded monument sign welcoming guests at the property entrance
Pool: floating ducks held in position in the middle of the pool
Bar: custom-branded bar fronts behind the pool, under a dimensional Spotify sign
Stage: ducks in flight along the mansion's colonnade and suspended over the DJ booth, with printed duck graphics on the speaker fronts
Interview area: a dedicated seating set with designer chairs, flowering duck topiaries, and a roped VIP entry
Photo set: a 3D scene of flying ducks and clouds, used by NIGO and Pharrell
Custom merch: duck-branded frisbees, water guns, notepads, and pens
The challenge
A short timeline and a long list of elements, each needing its own engineering answer: how to hold floating ducks in place, how to rig ducks over a stage, and how to install everything in a private residence without leaving a mark on the property.
Leading through it
I set the build approach for every element based on my fabrication and install experience. When parts of the team doubted the direction, I held to the plan and walked them through why it would work. It did: every element went in on schedule with no damage to the property, and the team came out of it trusting the plan and each other.
The result
A fully branded, property-wide experience for one of music's biggest release parties, and a client who was extremely happy with it.
